Have a dose of sosyness and good laugh with Sosy Problems

Sosy Problems is GMA Films' entry to the 2012 MMFF which stars four of the 'It' girls from the kapuso camp - Heart Evangelista, Solenn Heusaff, Bianca King and Rhian Ramos. The film is entertaining for me; I laughed my heart out to most of the scenes (where some may smirks because it may appear quite shallow for them). I must say the girls got me with their 'kaartehan' ensembled with the 'kasosyalan’ but still with a heart. The film is not done to actually accentuate the ‘sosy life’ of the lead characters but more so, to take a peak in their lives as they too got their own problems.

A Fun Holiday Shopping Spree by Samsung Philippines

Members of the press and some bloggers including yours truly were able to witness a fun shopping spree event. A few days ago before Christmas, Samsung treated their wiinners of "Have a Smartlife Holiday Shopping Spree" promo a 20k-worth of grocery items at Rustan's supermarket in Mandaluyong.

As a fun and exciting holiday challenge, winners are tasked to put their shopping skills to the test by gathering as many items as they can under time pressure. And because four shoppers are better than one, the winners get the chance to invite three of their family members or friends to assist them with the challenge. Once their time is up, the winners get to keep all the products they managed to gather under the P 20, 000 prize budget.

My favorite group among the winners is the Cabonce family. As we watched them shop in haste, I could feel their determination to maximized the amount and the time limit they have to bring home worthy products from the spree. Plus they are the only team who have three girl members, which only proves that girls can beat the stronger men when it comes to grocery shopping chore.  Every member of the family is focused and they know which products they will be getting from the shelves and which sections they will go, they've strategist well enough before their turn. Looking at the 2 full push carts as they were heading home, I could say they got the most! Good job Cabonce family!

David Pomeranz is back in Manila for a magical Christmas

The award-winning recording artist and song writer is back in the Philippines for a series of shows in different parts of the country.

Who would ever forget David Pomeranz? His songs have captured the hearts of every Filipino and for a lot of times have moved me to tears every time I hear "On This Day", and "Born For You" playing in the airwaves. Most of his songs have been chosen by many couples’ theme song and the greatest hit "King and Queen of Hearts" have been the official prom and ball song over the years.

Catch David  Pomeranz as he shares love and music once again, see the Philippines schedule from the poster below.

Paskotitap 2012 - The Christmas Float Parade in Pasig City

Paskotitap is one of the most awaited events in the city of Pasig as part of its annual Christmas traditions . Paskotitap features the colorful giant floats shimmering in lights and accompanied with sounds of favorite Christmas tunes. The main attraction of Paskotitap that really give cheers to children and even the young at hearts are the animated display characters riding the giant floats. One can't help taking photos of amazing creativity of the Pasiguenos and sponsored business corporations.

This year's theme follows the most-love children movies of all time including Monsters, Inc., Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Cars and Avatar.

The local government of Pasig City holds this annual event as it symbolizes a more stronger understanding about the real essence of Christmas - to love, to share and to help one another.

Here are the photos:

Paskotitap 2011

Every year, the kids in the family always look forward to this annual event of Christmas lights and float parade in Pasig City also known as "Paskotitap". This year will be the fifth year this Christmas tradition will be staged and every Pasigueno is outside their homes and gathered in the streets and waiting for the parade.

Last year's theme was about the famous Disney character and heroes. Because so many people are in the street, it was hard for me to capture photos as the parade is on going. But we had the chance to see upclose and appreciate the extravagant floats when they were placed in Pasig city Plaza for the publc to see.

Sunday School for Toddlers

Almost five months of consistent Sunday schooling and Robin has gotten used with his schedule every Sunday already, with or without a buddy. He has become independent and now interacts more with other kids in church, and it just makes me so proud of him for gone were the worries I have every time he's with other kids. I don't get complains anymore that he just hit another kid or made somebody cried, whew!

He now participates with the singing and dancing part just like the other kids . I can also leave him alone while I go to the other room to attend the church' service. Whenever I register his name, he don't wait for me anymore and continue walking ahead to get inside and join the other kids. Gone are the days of giving me those dont-leave-and-wait-for-me-there look, such a cute young man!

Chistmas & December: The Buy & Sell Season :)

Since I officially became unemployed this, I can't feel the usual excitement of every employee feels every time the month of December is approaching.  This is indeed the season to be jolly as everyone seems to look forward to 13th month pay and bonuses but boo to me because for the first time in 10 years, I can't have any of them hehe.

But not that sad because this state is a choice and there are actually better things to replace the monetary delight (honest to goodness hehe). One is being a full-time mom and coach to my son who went to school for the first time plus having to serve my dearest husband and learning a few dish on my own while my boys are out. 2012 is yet another year of my gratefullness - for the opportunity to better my relationship with the people who truly matters in my life. :)

Enough of the melow drama, let's talk about business now :).  Anyways, a few weeks ago I posted in my facebook account some photos of nice shirts (really nice shirts hehe) for sale and was glad with the sales of this little 'sideline' because it gave me the chance to feel like I will be receiving extra amount too this Christmas, just like having a 'christmas bonus' although not that big :).

The replica shirts I sell from the very first batch, I'm soon to get stocks for the 4th batch, yay!

Can you pull-off a cheap Holloween Costume Party?

On my birthday, after a simple dinner prepared at home, Robin and I went to my parent’s house to attend a little 'costume party'organized by my lil sis. It was same as last year's random Nov 1 party which my nieces and two of their neighbor friends participated. In exchange for the kids' efforts of dressing up are some candies and goodies my lil’ sis gave away.

Then next is a whole night of scary-fun party and of course lots of picture, picture. :)

Ghie-Anne :)

"Kawawa" ang peg. So cute Donita :)

A new family :)

Today, DH brought home a stray puppy and our kid was really excited he immediately cuddled the little dog. The new baby in the family joins our 2 other dogs Bonchon and Lyka and while we're all excited for "Panda", the name we decided to give 'her', the two dogs were very uneasy inside their respective cages. They become really loud when they're jealous :)

Anyway, my 4 year old son asked me to give Panda milk because he believes he hasn't been fed by her mother yet. Being compassionate to animals and elderly is a trait I admire about my son. Ehem, I’ll take this credit because it really pays teaching your child to do random act of kindness, be it for humans or animals. He sacrificed a few hours left for him playing before going to school as he got busy feeding Panda and making sure he'll be comfortable in his 'new home'.

Panda is indeed one lucky dog. With Robin around, he'll grow up just like our first adopted dog, Bonchon, happy and always loved.

Wellmanson: The ideal place for accessories spree!

At a recent trip to Quiapo, Manila, it’s impossible for me to miss a quick trip to Wellmanson, the air-conditioned shop along Villalobos street, adjacent Quiapo church, where you can find the nicest and affordable accessories, beading supplies and what-have-yous. There are actually 2 stores I visited where some of the items are quite cheaper than Wellmanson but their stocks are not as organized and the staffs are quite unfriendly. The stores are also not air-conditioned so if you’re after a convenient shopping experience, go to Wellmanson.

Some of the cute stuff I bought:

At this age, I'm still a die hard fan of kikay accessories. I must admit that I have a fancy for bangles, beads, dangling, some neons and everything nice that unleashes a woman’s sense of style. I guess there were more than times that I went on buying accessories than wardrobes and shoes. But even if this splurging is way cheaper, I've also proven that it’s also impractical to buy a lot of them because I don't get to use them due to limited wardrobes that I have and some accessories won’t be a good match with my regular clothes.

Thrift shopping has enabled me to explore different outfits and to experiment with the bunch of accessories I have. I just can't afford to go broke buying clothes and shoes, they aren't really my interest that's why ukays are indeed heaven-sent :).

But really, an accessory can improve our everyday look; it's just have to be the right pieces right for what you wear. So if you're like me who have a soft heart for blings and trinkets, be happy. As long as it’s not yet an OA addiction, go, collect and experiment! :)

Time Table

Guess I would badly need to master the art of letting go. Too much emotional blunders these days that cost my precious tears make up full buckets. If only I can save them literally, I would.  So I would know how much this recent turmoil cost me this time. Haayy, heartbreaks are the worst!  You can never really say which hurts the most that you could ever remember..because it always feels exactly just the same, tsk.

Even if I hate sharing stuff like this because it will just begets people raising their eyebrows at me, I can only hope they can spare some understanding first. No matter how I hold it back, I'm just not that tough. I just want to vent it out here in my own space. Let me breathe in and breathe out the pain, word every word, phrase per phrase, if I may. I don't claim to have readers who will care to give a virtual hug or show sympathy in any form, I just need this space to vent out. To free my self. So then, I would be ready to move on. To embrace a new strength with wide arms open. To learn and appreciate the purpose behind this 'pain'.

Being in a relationship that almost passed a decade, nurtured with a young boy who gives light and inspiration on a daily basis, I couldn't help but think why am I still capable of doubting if its still worth enough for me. Are the challenges of the past not enough? Like how much more I need to bare to take everything going and say.."Kaya ko pa!"  I never ask for a prince but my heart desires for a fairytale. I guess I haven't really found it...yet. My fairytale. And I never questioned how long as it's bound to happen. After all, you don't read the line "they live happily ever after...' neither in the beginning nor in the middle part of a story. I keep holding on. That in the end, I will have my happy ending. It's too early to assume but it's not bad to presume either. The fact that you doubt your own story, could it be really meant for me? That 'happy endings' are indeed just in fairy tales? Why does it have to feel like a far off land, totally out of reach and far beyond? I wish I knew the answer because sometimes, these thoughts bubble just suck big time.

Falling out of love is not the issue. If there's still one left for me right at this very moment, it's the confidence that the person who causes me this pain is also the one who never fails to utter me his words of eternal love despite my doubts.  Someone who would never walk away even if I turn my back at him…who will beg for me to fight for the 'love' over and over again. Sometimes, some people can be a total jerk for doing immature things and would expect you to keep calm and let it pass. Until you come to your senses and go back to asking yourself again…what could have gone wrong again this time? Are the mistakes and the pains still worth it? True enough, only those whom we truly love are also the ones capable of hurting us. Even if we let them go out of our life, the pain is still there and just like love, it will haunt us and imprisoned us in time. And whenever were torn between the only choices we knew to end our sufferings, between two paths to take, the heart would often takes a detour and find its shortcuts to forgiveness.  Really…is that the way love must go?
